Note however the low bioavailability of curcumin: for its beneficial to the body active, the curcumin , is fully absorbed by the body (not discharged as waste), it must be combined with other foods.

Combine turmeric in your culinary preparations

In the Indian tradition, turmeric is always associated with pepper and other spices. Indeed, it greatly facilitates the absorption of curcumin by the body.

To learn how to make your mix, simply follow the 9-5-1 rule  : 9 doses of turmeric, 5 doses of another spice such as ginger for example and 1 dose of pepper. A dose can be a teaspoon, a tablespoon, depending on how much you need.

Take the time it takes to get a homogeneous mix , do not neglect this step, it is essential.

You can add to your cooking, not forgetting olive oil or butter. Indeed, it is also advisable to associate turmeric with fat, always to promote its assimilation because the active constituents of turmeric are fat soluble.

How to make a cure of turmeric as a dietary supplement?

Food supplements are also a great way to enjoy all the benefits of turmeric . In addition, it saves you from getting tired of turmeric, especially in case of prolonged cure.

We advise you in this case a certified organic formula enriched with turmeric oil, to double the absorption by the body. Prefer supplements made from turmeric root extract concentrated in curcumin.

Take 1 tablet daily, in the morning at breakfast, with a glass of water for a minimum of 1 month for a better effect.

Consumed for a long time in Asia, turmeric honey also called "golden honey" is a delicious way to enjoy the antioxidant effects  of turmeric.

The honey recipe with turmeric


  • 100 g of honey
  • 10 g of powdered turmeric
  • (a pinch of black pepper)
  • (3 or 4 g of another spice, according to the desired virtues)


Mix the turmeric with, if you wish, the pepper and the other spice until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Pour this mixture into your honeypot and mix again.

How to consume it?
In prevention, you can consume 1 teaspoon of turmeric honey every morning, on an empty stomach.

In case of colds or flu, take ½ teaspoon of honey every half hour on the first day then every 2 hours on the second and third day.

If you suffer from digestive problems, dilute a teaspoon of honey in a glass of water or in milk and drink it before each meal.

Turmeric infusions
To enjoy the benefits of turmeric , you can also very well prepare infusions  :

  • either by infusing 1 to 2 g of turmeric powder with 3 or 4 grains of black pepper in 150 ml of boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes. In this case, drink 2 cups a day.
  • either by boiling a turmeric root for 3 minutes and letting the decoction infuse for 10 minutes. Drink 2 to 3 cups a day.

If you do not know the Golden Milk yet , you'll love it. This Ayurvedic drink, which has always been consumed in India and Southeast Asia, is a true concentration of well-being for your body. Prepared with vegetable milk, turmeric, pepper and ginger, it is ideal to take care of your health.

The perfect Golden Milk recipe

Ingredients for 2 people:

  • 50 cl of vegetable milk (coconut milk for example)
  • a teaspoon of coconut oil
  • a tablespoon of turmeric
  • a teaspoon of ginger powder
  • a pinch of ground black pepper
  • a teaspoon of honey


Heat the milk over low heat and add the turmeric and ginger. Mix well to avoid lumps. When the milk is hot, add the coconut oil and remove from the heat. All you have to do is add pepper and honey.

Do not forget the use in external application

If you suffer from eczema , psoriasis or fungus , turmeric externally can be a great help. For this, prepare a base by mixing a teaspoon of turmeric with a little water until you get a thick paste. Then apply the poultice on a compress then put it on the place to treat for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat the operation 3 times a day.
